Unable to connect to FTP sites with 2820vn was created by harlanblue
I have a 2820vn and have recently become aware that I am unable to connect to any external FTP sites. My FTP client (filezilla) initally connects to a site but then displays the error message "ftp error 425 no data connection". Does anybody have any idea what is going on here?

I have the same router and I constantly access FTP sites all day with my job. No problems at all here.

Out of interest, there are a number of issues regarding the use of NAT routers and FTP.
Some light reading:http://www.ncftp.com/ncftpd/doc/misc/ftp_and_firewalls.html
Long story short, I ended up having to DMZ my FTP server to get things working correctly. Obviously this is the other way around for you, but may be useful to know.
