2800 faster upload speed than 2820 on Be Broadband was created by jackr10
Can anyone help me explain this please?
I've just got myself a be broadband line and connected it to my 2800G router. As expected, it can't make the most of the download speed, but using annex M achieves around 2.2Mbps up and 13.5Mbps down. (up sync speed is 2633200)
Having taken the various bits of advice, I decided to get a 2820Vn which gets around the INP issue with the older Draytek. But it's slower on the up. It syncs at 2493299 and delivers a speedtest of only 1.8Mbps up (and around 16Mbps down)
Any ideas please?
thanks
Richard

which modem code are you using? I recommend trying out the 2471201 modem code that you can get from here:
ftp://ftp.draytek.com/Vigor2820/Firmware/V3.3.5.1/annexA/2820V3.3.5.1A2471201/v2820_v03351_2471201_A.all
to see whether that gives you a speed improvement.

Thanks voodle, for that. I tried that code, and it gave a slight improvement on the down speed, but exactly the same on the up.
Any other thoughts?

Also take a look at the CLI commands "adsl txpct" & "adsl rxpct" they restrict the ADSL speed to a percentage of max. Something to do with QoS that has never quite made sense (to me).

Yeah that's useful to check too, put both of those values up to 100 so the router won't reserve that last 20% for QoS - which I think is a rather large amount these days, imo that 20% may have been useful for older connections but not so much these days, should be nearer 10%.
