2820VN WAN1 BE WAN2 Virgin Media was created by joelang1699
Hello

Im looking for some advice here. I have a BE ADSL connection and i'm thinking about installing a Virgin media connection on WAN2 for the extra upload speed. With BE i get roughly 250k Up which I could add another 500k to with an additional connection. I realise this wouldn't be combined like line bonding.

Now what I would like to be able to do is send all Torrent traffic via WAN1 all day, use WAN2 for skype, browsing, gaming etc and then have the WAN2 connection used in conjunction with WAN1 for uploading torrents from 01:00 AM to 10:00am in conjunction with the previously named services maximizing my upload speed when everyones sleeping.

Is this possible with load balancing on the 2820 and can specific policies be scheduled?

Yep - no problem

Nope - you can not "schedule" load balancing rules. They are either on or off.

You can now :) I just remembered you can specify load balancing in the filter rules now, so with 3.3.5.1 firmware you CAN schedule load balance policies, as well as QoS, that could be handy...

Excellent news! But how stable is 3.3.5.1 as 3.3.5.0 had problems with BE connections?

Better actually than 3.3.4.1 in my experience, and with Be connections, if you've got annex M there's a modem code (2471201) which is supposed to give better upload speeds.
