Hi,

Can someone point me in the right direction. Our 2820N is not allowing wireless users to access the server for Outlook anywhere access (via https).
Anyone outside the company can access it ok. The rest of the internet also works ok for the wireless user.
The server is on one of our static IP range (eg 88.88.88.98) and a wireless user gets an ip from the router's dhcp (eg 192.168.1.10)
Is there some routing or something I need to add to allow 192.168.1.10 to access 88.88.88.98 ?
If you run a whatsmyip from a wireless user then it shows up as the router's address (eg 88.88.88.99)

Hope someone can help as I'm no expert in networking/routing

TIA

On site users...

What provides on-site users with DNS? e.g. on a users LAN status the IP address for DNS is that of your Draytek Vigor 2820N ? Or, I'm guessing it may well be the IP address of a Server ( e.g. Microsoft Server 2008, Small Business Server 2003 ) ?

If DNS is handled by the server, then you need to add a DNS entry. For example 'A' record for external.the-company-name.co.uk = 192.168.1.10 (the servers internal IP address).

Regards,

Neal

Even if I go direct to the IP address (eg: https://88.88.88.98/owa ) , it won't work so not sure DNS could be the problem.
We also have DNS and reverse DNS all setup for external.mycompany.co.uk to point to the server on 88.88.88.98
There is a firewall box sat on 88.88.88.98 (plugged into the 2820N) which redirects to the email server 192.168.1.98

Thinking on, could the issue to do with the wireless subnet being the same as the server's subnet ?

Thanks
