Vigor 2800 intermittent rebooting was created by cjw1378
Hi All,
I've just returned to my Vigor 2800 after the Netgear router I was using failed.
However, the Vigor appears to be very slow to SSH out through (other content seems fine), and seems to suffer from intermittent reboots.
I'm using version 2.8.2 of the firmware, installed today.
The problem is that each reboot appears to drop my synch speed. It was 5Mb at the start of the day and I'm now down to 2.6Mb!
Anyone seen this behaviour? Anyone know how to fix it?
cheers,
Chrus

Hi,
Try setting the MTU to 1458 on router if you haven't already done so. I had similar trouble after faffing about after experimenting with different MTU values to get the best speed. My speeds dropped significantly until setting back to 1458. Speed was back to normal and have been consistent ever since.
Of course it could be your unit is failing. I have a 2800Vg which I upgraded to a 2820vn and the main reason was this issue with speed. I remember seeing my speed drop after 5 weeks with no intervention by me on the old modem. Tried everything but no good. So upgraded and all fast up till now. I use old 2800 as back up.
Cheers
