Vigor 2820 port forwarding and firewall was created by fixer40000
I've recently configured a new 2820 for use with a mail/web server.
Port forwarding is working correctly but the firewall is having no effect on traffic.

A specific block of a test external IP address for port 80 does nothing for example
Setting
Wan->Lan
Source ip: TESTIP
Destination ip: server LAN IP
Service type: port 80 to 80
Fragments: don't care
Filter: Block Immediately

Does anyone have any insight on this problem?

What do you mean by port forwarding ? Have you used open ports or port redirection ?

Actually tried both.

Used open ports first, then disabled that and copied all settings over to port redirection. Firewall didn't have any effect on either.

Firewall filter setup - > user defined TCP asks to have a source port. I've set as > 1 for source port as a test. Had no effect.

Try using 1~65535 as the source port, also where do you have the filter rule set up? If it's not in #2 Default Data filter and you haven't changed the start filter set from #2 on the general setup page, go to #2 default data filter and change the next filter set # to the set you've got that rule in otherwise the router won't process it.

Thanks, that looks like that fixed it, along with Session Control being changed from 0.
