Thanks all for your input - I've now managed to get connected.

My VDSL connection info is as follows:
Profile State UP-Speed Down-Speed SNR Upstream SNR Downstream
17a Showtime 9112 39719 58 63

and I'm getting about 21.19Mbps downloads and 9.19Mbps uploads which is pretty similar to what I was getting with the BT-HUB.
I've very pleased with this device though..
