I just bought a second hand router and have tried to set it back to factory default but the password and user of admin and admin does not work. Does anyone know how I can get this router to accept the admin password.

Perhaps I have not reset it correctly? I press the factory reset button for 5 seconds and the ACT starts to flash. I then release the factory button and wait for the router to fully boot up.

I then enter the router local IP of 192.168.1.1 and then the login box appears and I enter admin and admin. The login box clears and the router webpage does not appear. The password etc is clearly not correct.

So what do I do now?

Hi,

Try :

- clear browser cache (exit browser, and start it again)
- try other browser
- try to enter via CLI (telnet)
