Router failing to relay DNS was created by simonbb
Vigor 2850

We have had the above router for approximately 3 months and all has been working fine until last Friday, when DNS resolution for web addresses failed. Via ping, or in browser, we can still access external IP addresses, but name resolution fails.

eg
Ping 62.24.154.157 results in a response,
Ping google.com fails.

After working with our ISP to try and resolve this, we swapped out the Vigor for our old (cheep/home) router, using the same DNS settings, all works fine.

No changes were made either to the router, network or servers last week.

Does anyone know:
* What could have caused this?
* Is there a "quick" recovery?
* Is this a faulty router?
