Vigor 2860n for newbies please help! was created by sbedigital
After much of shopping around I have opted to buy Vigor 2860n version of the router/modem for my newly activated VDSL from PlusNet. It has only been 3 days so far, modem setup was breaze, worked brilliantly first time round. I have notice that in router web control panel, it always shows my DSL/ADSL port in orange / amber rather than green which incidently my LAN PORT 1 is. In addition to that on the LAN PORT 6 I have network printer (CANON LBP 5050DN) installed, which also shows orange / amber.

Now is it normal? or am I missing something.

Please not physical light on the unit itself all are green and I have internet access (all be it at 31 mbits out of promised 80 mbits) as well as all my computers can see my network printer.

Reason for asking this is I have tried to downlod a ubuntu 13.04 iso image from UKMIRROR Services. For starange reason on my VDSL (on Home Office line) it takes around 7 Minutes and I have SKY broadband for home use also take around 7 minutes for the same file, which about 878MB in size. Based on that evaluation my SKY Broadband is out doing my VDSL :-(
Any suggestions??????????

Orange normally means the device is connected at 10/100 network device speed and green for 1gbps device speed.

Most printers will only connect at the lower speed. Nothing to worry about.
