Internet Access of Nano Hub was created by barnesy1977
Hi all,

I wonder if someone could help with an issue I'm really struggling with.

I've recently purchased a Vigor 2130n, as the router I was previously using was inadequate for our needs. The problem I'm having is I can't get my britishgas myhome nano hub to connect to the internet. This is a device that allows us to control the heating (via a wireless thermostat) from our computer/smart-phone.

I've spent about 5 hours this morning looking through all the menus on the device and I just can't get it to work. The nan hub is quite a simple device and with the old router (and the one before that) you simply plugged it into a LAN port and you could access it immediately from your computer. But this one just won't allow it internet access.

I've successfully managed to open ports for the CCTV that we have through the NAT Open Port menu, but as far as I know I shouldn't need to open ports for the british gas hub to work (and furthermore I don't know what ip address it works on).

Any advice would be much appreciated.

Many thanks in advance

It could be that you need to enable the UPNP.

Hi, thanks for the input. I tried that but it didn't work.

It turns out, having had quite a chat with British Gas Tech Team, that that the device does not work with any Draytek routers :-/ Apparently it's the only Brand that it won't work on. Never mind, will have to buy my 4th router this year.

Cheers

id log it with support as more and more people will want to use these things.
Perhaps their developers will then sort it

My nano hub is working fine with a Draytek 2820. Didn't change anything on the router to enable it, so I think their claim of it not working with any Draytek is a bit wide of the mark. As they don't specify you must/must not have a particular router when you purchase the system I'd say it's up to BG to tell you how to get it working.

I rekon its to do with the Upnp then as the setting are now slightly different between the 2820 and 2830
