3G as backup was created by lsarrat
Dear forum members,

Here is my config :

- Orange livebox
- Vigor 2830 (plug behind the livebox)
- 3G USB Key Icon 225 (plug to the 2830)

I am trying to use the 3G Icon 225 as a backup in case my Orange Livebox gets nuts (happens ;-))
By itself the 3G key is working well with the 2830 and I can activate this WAN connexion.
I have configure this WAN to be backup of the WAN I get throught the livebox.

Nevertheless, when the livebox bugs, from the 2830 point of view, the wan interface is still up (as a test i disconnect the DSL connexion of the LB).
Basically it never detect the failure of the livebox (unless I just unplug it).

Do you see any smart way for me to configure kind of "ping to the internet failure" ?

Kind Regards

Laurent

you can via WAN >> General Setup>wan 3 > untick the load balance box, next of the "Active Mode" or set it as back up only
At WAN >> Internet Access>wan 3>there is a "WAN Connection Detection" where you can choose ARP detect or Ping Detect
(based with latest firmware 3.6.6.1)

At WAN >> General Setup>wan 1/2 ... can choose if you want to use a specific back up wan if fails under the "Active Mode" option and untick the load balance if not need it
