One of my (non tech) acquaintances has asked me how he can set up his DrayTek router to handle up to 350 nodes. I pointed him at an IP address calculator and suggested he use /22 subnetting. He tells me that he can't change the subnet from 255.255.255.0 to 255.255.240.0 , for example.

So, in a classful world, how do you set up Class B addressing, or in a classless world, can you set a /22 subnet mask?

Remember it's the DHCP pool count that's the issue, appears to be maximum of 253 allowed on Draytek routers.

Not that I've been able to test the pool count but I just changed a 2830 to 10.0.0.0/255.255.252.0 (1022 hosts) Network 10.0.0.0 Broadcast 10.0.3.255
