Hi,

I have had a 2860n model (firmware 3.7.3.1) now for a few weeks, and trying to set up any sort of port forwarding is providing to be something of a problem.

Ideally, I want to forward all port 80 traffic to a specific server on the LAN..............That said, today, I would settle for being able to open up and forward any port, which to date I have singly failed to achieve. (by that I literally mean, unable to open up any port for any traffic of any kind, let alone forward it).

Following advice on this forum, I have de-selected management from the WAN, and have changed the default ports (ie 80, 443, 21, 22 etc etc etc) to other port numbers. I have lost count of the number of times that I have read and re-read the manual.................

I am hoping that there is something very simple somewhere that I have missed or overlooked

Any thoughts or input from anyone here would be greatfully appreciated

not sure if will help you but port 443 will override any existing port forward using this port ... so just change the 443

I have now updated the firware to 3.7.3.3, and again trawled my way through all the settings.................

Sadly, it seems that I am simply still not able to open up any port either by using the Port Forwarding or Open Ports facilities in the console.

I can't help but wonder if there is something else somewhere in the settings that is simply stopping me from opening-up a port, as this problem appears to effect all ports without exception.

Any further ideas or thoughts would be most appreciated

I am pleased to report that I seem to have fixed my problem.

Having been away for a few days for the New Year, I returned determined to tackle my port forwarding issues.

I had originally/previously set-up my router with a 10.0.0.x address as this fitted nicely with my existing network/s, and saved me the bother of re-setting the servers with new static addresses etc etc.

So, on my return, I decided to once again put the router back into default settings, and to use/keep the Draytek default 192.168.1.x address schema.
Changed the default remote management ports (as previously discussed)
Changed the IP addresses of the static servers to new '192' addressses
Setup a restricted range of '192' addresses for the DHCP devices
Setup Port Forwarding as per the manual

Hey-presto - - - - - it works !!!

Quite why this should be, I cannot say, and will leave to better minds than mine, but I'm not complaining, as objective is now achieved.

This one had me scratching my head for some time too - everything worked on my 2860 bar SSL access to my internal web-server...then I found that the VPN hogs 443 by default
