I am configuring a 2860 to replace a netgear dg834g v4 and have had difficulty with the quality of the adsl connection. The isp have told me there have been an very high level of authentications.
Whilst it connects successfully users have been reporting problems with the VoIP phone system calls to remote sites. Now I appreciate there is a fair bit of configuring to get VoIP working well, but my current line of enquiry is the radical difference between statistics I have collected with 'RouterStats-Lite' between the 2 routers.
Also Pinging the router remotely gives a pattern of about 6 responses of 30-40 ms then 2 responses of over 140ms in a cycle.
Here are some connection stats from 'RouterStats-Lite' showing the Noise margin dropping to zero in a cycle which shows as a zigzag graph:
