Inter-lan routing wont work was created by sicon
I have 2930 on 3.6.4.1 and the inter lan routing won’t work

LAN1(192.168.100.0/24) and LAN2 192.168.200.0/24

You see the LANs are connected in the routing table

The Lans work find independently on their own but they wont route

If I ping the gateway (2930) address of LAN2 from LAN1 it responds but when you to a tracer route it gets as far as the gateway then the next hop times out

I have ticked the boxes in Inter-Lan routing to allow the two to access each other

I have even created firewall filters to pass the traffic both ways in the firewall

The Lans are port bases not dot1Q

I can replace the router with a Netscreen SSG5 set up the same as the 2830 and they route fine

Any suggestions??

thanks

Hi. Don't know whether this would help, but I had the same problem until I changed the Default filter rule to Pass and not Block. i..e in Firewall --> General --> Actions for default rule. I didn't seem to have much luck when actually defining the appropriate filters under Firewall --> Filter Setup.

I got it going. the setup was correct it was just the people that configured the phone system didn't put the right Gateway in.
When I connected my laptop (once I finally got to site) it worked straight away.
