2860n+ is slower than 2820 + BT modem was created by b0redom
Hi All,
As subject. I've just bought a 2860n+ to replace the modem, gigabit switch, and ageing Vigor 2820 I have. I've connected it all up, and my sync speed seems to have dropped from somewhere around 53000Kbps to 43000Kbps. Is there something I'm obviously missing? I realise I was never going to get a massive performance increase (if at all), but surely I shouldn't be getting a drop like that?

Tom

You can try change the cable from the phone socket going to 2860 wan port and also try change the modem code if helps
WAN >> General Setup>>DSL Modem Code ... 531A16_533011 seems good but try and the others

Thanks! I spoke to Draytek support who logged in and had a poke around. They've managed to get the speed up to 47000Kbps, but that's not a great deal of help. Guess I'll return it, and stick with what I have. On the down side, it appears that the line is now stuck at 47000kbps even with the original kit, so I guess I'll have to ask the ISP to retrain the line (if it's the same as with ADSL).

i have read the 3.7.3 (from UK download page) firmware was good ... there is also an other one 3.7.3.3 and soon to come out 3.7.4 .. not sure the changes in vdsl modem part as i don't have the unit/model ... but remember each time you rebooting any vdsl modem (not just the draytek) for firmware upgrade or swapping modems etc ... the DLM at cabinet may see it as fault and droops the speed as result to make more stable the line ... it can take days or weeks the profile to go up again and isp only resets it, if is really urgent (as far i know)

If & with the BT modem still down to 47.000 kbps right now ( i don't say to make you keep the unit) ... it may be because the profile gone down and so the draytek may be ok now after the help of the UK support but you can only find out if your isp can reset your profile and see if the draytek will go near 500000 kbps after the reset ... but to my opinion 47 is not big difference to 53 beside after few days or week may go up or close to 50, IF the draytek stay stable

i don't mean change your mind but just saying possible reasons why the line dropped speed
