I did find this in the release notes

For DSL models, there will be two folders: STD and VECTOR.
The files in VECTOR folder implement a new DSL driver, which supports G.Vectoring on VDSL.
If you're using a VDSL line, VECTOR firmware may brings out better performance; however, please consult your ISP to check if G.Vectoring is required.
We also provide two versions of Vector firmware to avoid the interoperability issue.
You could just try the other one if the one you use cannot synchronize or get the speed that you expected.

Thanks :)
hope will keep the line stable and DLM will not kick by time ...
don't play too much with them in sort time, just give them time for changing firmwares, the DLM may see it as fault with too many disconnections
My 2760 had vector firmware (only 1 version) since last august/september and is stable well for my adsl line & i am using it already with good results (well right now i have a 2830n on but later will go back to it)

Some more for you babis3g. This is using the STD firmware, not the VECTOR on the same device/line. Looks to me like STD is better for my line. No errors, better PSD.

Thanks for your effort :)
It may helps other users as well :!:
Down here in Greece i am right now, some users with Infineon dslam/cabins (vdsl) mentioned the STD is better for them

Then to me seems vector is slightly better only with broadcom exchanges (i am)
I also have seen users getting 1-3 more mbps with vector & broadcom

It turns to be the modem code ... (i was believing has something to do with the noise cancelation the vector was offering but seems i was wrong)
The 2860/2760 are Lantiq (ex infineon) so you should not have really issues with any firmware, but yes some modem codes may be better

Yes, Draytek STD firmware does indeed seem to be the best with IFTN.

Just to note, I am sticking with the STD firmware, as the jagged edges (ping spikes) on my Broadband Monitor have now also disappeared. Vector firmware introduces the almost sawtooth effect.

I now have a nice smooth line.
