2760n and TalkTalk fibre. was created by rshortland
I've just brought a 2760n to replace the Huwai router and BT modem I have currently. I've just spent the last few hours trying to get it set up but to no avail. I did once manage to get a connection but the router did not pick up an IP address from TalkTalk and I haven't been able to connect to the internet. One thing I do know is that TalkTalk do not use a username and password for their fibre customer's anymore so I am wondering if this is having some bearing on the issues I've been having.

Has anyone managed to succeed in setting up a 2760n with TalkTalk and if so can you share with me what you did? By the way the router is running v3 firmware.

(dont forget the vlan tag at step one)
When you go at step 3 click the tab static or dynamic ip
When i had fibre with TT it was needing DHCP setup which is there

I've just tried those instructions but not had any luck. When I look at the physical connection and the WAN1 status it shows the connection is there but it says that there is a username or password error. Now I can only assume that the 2760n doesn't like having no username or password. I have tried putting in a random username and passowrd but it doesn't make any difference.

EDIT

have you tried leave them blank or add our phone number & blank or combination with phone number/space or space bars for both?
When had TT fibre long time ago i just used my online username pass (was ex-tiscali one), it seems has change by now
You can ask here (join the lines it's see it as spam)

I've tried using my phone number as the username along with @talktalk.net as well as spaces for both and no change. I'll have a look at the link when I get into work and have another go tonight.

OK ask & in the forum, i am sure by now few having the 2760

Have you add vlan id tag 101 @wan>general setup? & VDSL only?

static or dynamic ip tab
have you ticked obtain ip automatic?
DHCP Client Identifier for some ISP , have you disable it if will help? once does not need pass?
MTU 1492 or 1500
wan connection detection mode always on

then reboot & wait some time if will get ip etc

Do not use Specify an IP address, unless you have static ip from the isp (usually business service) STD should work good with TT

I mean all needs to do is to send DHCP request to the isp

Alternative ask the UK support which they should know about the UK isp's settings (they reply fast & they are the ones which helped me to connect with TT years ago)

That is how me & others done it years ago (2850 but is exactly the same)

Latest firmware is 3.7.5.4 (but that should not matter really)
