Vigor 130 control panel through router. was created by franvand98
Hi guys,

I recently got a Vigor 130 modem as the modem in the Asus dsl-n66u is a pile of crap over vdsl.
I can access the Vigor Web interface when directly connected pc to modem at 192.168.2.1 however when the modem is connected to the port on the router it is not accessible.
Here are the ip configuration settings for the router
Router ip: 192.168.1.1
Subnet mask: 255.255.255.0
Default gateway (dhcp): 192.168.1.1

I was hoping to be able to access the modem interface as well as router interface because of my line of work it is essential to monitor dsl connection.
Thank you for your help and i hope we can resolve this together!

If the 130 (or ANY modem brand modem) is in bridge mode & the router (ANY router) is via PPPoE ... then is not possible to access the web page

Draytek has a new option between draytek products where it allows you to see only the stats (valid for the vigor 130 & 120) not the WUi menus ... but need a vigor router & modem

However i know a method that works with almost any modem router but IF you are using PORT Forward will have issues due to double NAT ... if you are not using port forward let me know to try adjust the 130 for your line

Ahh i understand babis,
What would your workaround be to access it in routers lan? Thanks for the quick reply.
And is it bad to have a double NAT?
Also should i disable DHCP on the modem when its running in bridged or does this not matter?
Thanks again.

Double NAt is bad for port forward may not work

The only way i know to access the fully menu of the 130 is

Take it out of the bridge mode & set normal via PPPoE or PPPoA or depending the settings from your isp & set the username /pass at the 130
keep the same ip address 192.168.2.1 to the 130 so do not confict with the asus
Disable dhcp (lan general setup), port forward upnp, igmp, but keep the default firewall

At asos set it as router & choice the lan port as wan (you already know)
then wan > internet connection set it as static ip (wan connection type)
wan ip address
ip address 192.168.2.200
subnet mask 255.255.255.0 (if not works set this later to 255.255.255.255)
gateway 192.168.2.1
save

now connect the right cables vigor>asus>pc and reboot ALL ... it should work ... if you open a new tab 192.168.2.1 should have access to vigor & an other tab 192.168.1.1 should have access to asus

I don't see anywhere on the vigor 130 to input isp username and password, I assumed it can only be used in bridged and it gets the isp user and pass from the router (true vdsl bridge modem). If you could provide screenshot or anything I would appreciate as the manual for the vigor shows gui menus and settings that do not appear in my vigor 130. I'm running latest firmware. Also when I disable dhcp I can no longer access the vigor 130 via its IP address even when manually assigning an IP, subnet mask and gateway to the computer in windows Ethernet adapter which I know are correct.

Sorry i don't own the unit .. i have a vigor 120
Internet Access >> PPPoE / PPPoA should be username & pass at right window (ISP Access Setup)
If is not there to let you use it/modify ... then is locked to bridge mode and this method can not be done
Latest firmware is 3.7.8
