Hi all,

Just a quick post to say my connection hasn't dropped since applying this "vectoring" firmware.

20 hours 30 minutes uptime so far :D

Thanks all, sorry to highjack your thread tobythetenor, is your connection now stable with the new firmware?

Hi all,

sorry for long silence.
For now, I've downgraded to 3.7.8 STD to build up my credentials with the DLM again (that goes incrementally in 10-day segments of uninterrupted connection apparently).
I think I want to try go back to over 50Mbit/s sync, and then try with the suggested Vector firmware.
I'm sure I had tried this before, but don't forget that the DLM actively disconnects in the early hours of the morning if it thinks it needs to, so perhaps that is what I saw when I had this modem code on.
Syncing at 37Mbit/s at the moment (previously 79995), so there may be some time to go.

what isp are you with, OR will usually consider it a fault if your sync drops by 25% (why I dont know) but I guess it depends on your ISP have you talked to them?

Xilo. It's a BT line in the end, and to get the DLM reset, you have to log a broadband fault, and BT (openreach) has to send an engineer, as the reset can only be done inside the cabinet, not remotely.
However, BT will not accept a line fault unless you use its supplied Openreach modem.
Doing all this will probably take longer than just waiting.
DLM reset this morning, so I'm back to 58 at the moment. Watching with interest.
