2820 want to use Wan2 for additional bandwidth/speed was created by selbi
Hi
I have a 2820 working great on 1 ADSL line. (Main)
I have another ADSL line with a Vigor 2800 works fine.
I'm trying to connect the 2800 to Wan2 on 2820 to 'combine' bandwidth. Not having any luck - does anyone know the settings for this?
Many thanks
Robin

Hi Selbi,
I don't think that is going to be possible due to NAT/routing issues which will be caused by the 2800 lan port to the 2820 WAN2 port.
I think the only way that will be possible is to replace your 2800 with a 120 Modem or similar ethernet bridge.

I'm absolutely new here, joined 5 minutes ago but I spent a ridiculous length of time attempting to use a second router for WAN2 (tried Netgear, SpeedTouch & Draytek) before buying a Draytek120 modem, which worked immediately with no configuration needed on the modem, all connection details handled by 2820.
Mark.

Yes it is possible and its exactly what I use !
You need to set different IP ranges in the two routers, i.e 192.168.0.1 for one and 192.168.1.1 for the other. Make sure DHCP is enabled on the 2800 (you probabaly also want it enabled on the 2820 for clients).
On the 2820 enable WAN2 in ethernet mode. Connect one of the 2800 ports to WAN2 on the 2820 and the 2800 will issue an IP to the 2820 WAN2 port in the same way that your ISP issues an IP to the ADSL WAN1 port.
I think others have experienced the same problem and I think it it just down to both routers being on the same default IP range.

I too have done successfully, as 2800 as WAN 2 on a separate class C network.
There are a couple of little issues that I haven't yet managed to sort out
- getting syslog from the 2800 through the 2820 to a LAN host that is also a DMZ host
- same LAN/DMZ host on the LAN can't see the HTTP (or other) ports on the 2800 but other LAN hosts can

Hi
I have 2 ISPs, Zen which plugs into the Adsl port of the 2820(configured to WAN1) and now BTbroadband into a BTHomehub 2.0.
How do I connect it to the WAN2 port and how do I configure the 2820 WAN2 and subsequent internet settings. BT says that I cannot use anything but PPPoA on the Homehub.
I am not an expert on configuring routers.
Thanks
