2820N and 120 modem setup .. was created by alberttatlockscap
Hi

I have a client who has a 2820n with a 120 for failover

There are 2 separate ADSL lines incoming

Whenever I enable the second line on the 120 modem , the internet connection drops completely

Any advice would be very welcome

Thx in advance

Ok - Problem Solved

I got some help from the support team

I put the 2820 into Forced DNS Mode and entered IP addresses of the primary DNS servers from both the ISPs of the 2 ADSL lines

It now works with no issues

sorry can you explain this in a bit more detail?

I would use both DNS addresses from both ISPs but I also want DHCP clients to use an internal DNS server. how will it work in this case?

OK - I have moved in a different direction with the setup right now , but this is how it works

In the Force Manual DNS setting on the 2820 , enter the following IP Addresses

These are OpenDNS servers and work very well

208.67.220.220
208.67.222.222

The you can also set your DNS forwarders on your internal DNS server to those addresses as well

Hope that helps
