I can't seem to find any about this, but looking at the Comparison chart on Draytek.co.uk the 2820VSn shows a Firewall Performance as 50Mb/s. Does that mean my new 80Mb Fibre is capped at ~50Mb? as I am indeed only getting about 47Mb-54Mb download rates?

Thanks,

PaulG.

Hi,

Yup, you're correct.

For that kind of throughput, i advise new DrayTek models :

Vigor2830
Vigor2920

Where you get a max. throughput of ~150Mbps.

rj

The chart states:

2920 90mbps
2830 50mbps

Thanks for the replies!

Do you know anything about the 2850? Its a brand new box, but the website says 50Mb/s also, is this the same hardware as the 2820 or might it support more like the 2830 does?

What firmware are you using?

Could you try the 3.3.7 firmware and see if that makes the WAN speeds better?

Also, make sure to use the wired network rather than wireless when testing speeds as the wireless will give lower speeds due to how it's connected up internally.

Currently on 3.3.7. I heard back from Draytek yesterday also, they said it is a "50Mb/s is a hardware limit of the 2820" :(
