2920 slow WAN2 speeds was created by beerbaron
I have a 2920 on firmware 3.6.3. The WAN2 port is connected to a modem from our ISP. This is a 120Mbps line. Speed tests show that when using this router it maxes out at 36Mbps. I have tested this with another router which maxes out over 100Mbps. It seems the 2920 is throttling the line speed. I have factory reset the router to try and limit any config issues but i receive the same speeds. Any ideas what could be causing this?

Thanks.

You can check QoS to disable but i think new firmware 3.6.3 is off by default & untick Enable the First Priority for VoIP SIP/RTP:
You can set the DoS at higher values (upd, syn, icmp maybe over 350) and not block(untick Block Unassigned Numbers)
WAN >> Internet Access..details page >> static or dynamic ip>> set MTU 1500

I have mine with VM connection 100mb and most cases it reach this speed but 36 is way low

Enable the First Priority for VoIP SIP/RTP was unticked already

I changed:

MTU set to 1500
DoS at higher values (upd, syn, icmp maybe over 350) and not block(untick Block Unassigned Numbers)

Speeds are now up to 55Mbps. This is the same if i disable DoS.

Thanks.

Should i have RIP enabled?

Hmmm strange ....
1- are you with latest 3.6.3 firmware?
2-can you power cycle the modem and pc?
Take all cables out even electric power cord of pc and modem and router 2920n
at pc (while the power cord is out ) hold for about 10 sec the power suply (on/off) button
at vm(if is the one) while is off press the reset button for 1 sec only
at router 2920 the same while is off press the reset button for 1 sec only
now just wait with out do anything about 2 min

Put back all cables and power cords and connect them and see if will make any difference

EDIT

an other point to care is at WAN >> General Setup enable and set it to always on then also you can try Physical Type to 100 full dublex or half
ALSO connect the ethernet wire coming from the SH at wan2 which is 10/100/100 base (wan 1 is only 10/100)

yes im using 3.6.3

its a 2920 not a 2920n

its not vm but is fiber provided by a company called ziggo.

i cant power cycle the router, modem or pc as this is a small office in another country. i have power cycled the modem and router in the past whilst i was on site but this made no different.
