DHCP Limitation

DHCP Limitation was created by lulworth
Hi All,

I've just purchased a 2860 for an install. Now I thought being a premium priced router I would be able to set the DHCP range I needed. Unfortunately you can't. The DHCP range is limited to a Class C with only 243 addresses available even if I specifically use a Class B or Class A address.

Is there any way to lift this limitation?

Eventually a proper DHCP server should be going in but I need this as a temporary measure.

I have the same problem.
I have a /22 network, and would like to make 512 addresses available for DHCP.
However, the 2860 only lets me chose a range of 256 at the moment.
I've moved a whole lot of devices onto static IPs now; it's a work-around, but it's not ideal and mean many wasted man hours.

I'm not aware that Draytek supports multiple range allocations within the same subnet

It does not support multiple range and only allows you to specify the start IP and then how many addresses are available. It limits this to 253 which for a business class device is tiny. I have devices that cost a lot less thank this that can handle bigger ranges.
