Lan 2 on AP-900 was created by pops1000uk
I have a strange thing happening on my ap-900

I have connected Lan2 to a 5 port switch
configured ip to 192.168.10.1
subnet 255.255.255.0
dhcp enabled start 192.168.10.10 end 192.168.10.250
Default gatewat 192.168.10.1
Primary DNS 8.8.8.8 Second DNS 8.8.4.4

Computers on this lan cant connect to internet at all... Says DNS server problem. I also tried 192.168.10.1 for dns and 208.67.220.220 still cant get this lan online?? any ideas?

If you are using the same SSID / username / pass maybe try disable the DHCP so the ap can take from the router and see if works but need to test with ethernet when changing settings, other way you may need to reset it if dhcp is disabled because may not work & don't give you access any longer to set it back again

if you have other AP's on at the same time not sure maybe this advice is not valid ... but on mine without switch and only one AP (with an ap 800) dhcp is disabled at the 800 & works fine

why have you set the AP to be the default Gateway, surely that's connected to something else on the same subnet that should be the gateway?

maybe i wrote this wrong. The AP-900 has got 2 LANS (2 subnets) LAN 2 I want to use for the workshop so its not on the same as lan 1.

LAN2 has only got 1 port on the ap-900. I rang Draytek but they said I need a wire into it (2 wires from the router) to run lan 2/? But i dont think thats right.

In the Draytek 2860 LAN 1 and LAN 2 work fine.

its the LAN 2 (LAN B) whats not working..... Runing a test indicates a problem with DNS???? I have tried all DNS 8.8.8.8, 8.8.4.4 and so on. Still not getting anywhere with this,

Drayteks website states simple 2 lan setup WITHOUT using VLAN...

I am a computer engineer with over 12 years in business, and this is doing my head in....

Never used 2nd subnet to help more sorry but here few guides (i know maybe is not the set up you want) if they help you by reading to learn your new AP 900 (the guides are from an ap 800 but is the same UI, settings)

ah well still no joy, i seen them guides, they all point to "A Simple LAN2 Setup without VLAN" yeah right. I sent my config files to draytek for a bug check..

I might just set my aspare 2830 to do this job and send the ap-900 back!

Cheers all
