Failover not working on 3900 Quad-WAN was created by purplewifi
Hi All,

We have a Draytek 3900 and it currently have WAN 1, 2 and 3 connections in the Load Balance Pool and WAN 4 in the Failover pool.

WAN 1, 2 and 3 work as normal however if/when they all go down, it's not failing over to the WAN 4 connection.

Below is my config - can anyone advise what I am missing?

WAN connections:

Connection Detection Mode (which we use to check if the WAN is down)

Default Route to Load Balance WAN 1, 2 and 3 WANs

Pools

Any ideas?

Thanks

James

I don't have this model but the fail over it may needs needs longer time to take effect, wait up to 1-2 min?
Also at last photo (wan>load balance) next tab of the pool (named rule) have you enable the profile & fail over? It may need settings in there or perhaps and the next tab called input load balance

Remember latest firmware (if you update i recommend the *rst* file extension for a fresh/clean install with out previous bugs & set the settings from the scratch) is 1.8.0.2 and has many fixes in the case is a bug in the firmware & not works the failover

Thanks for the reply.

I am on 1.8.0.2 already - the same problem was in the older firmware also.

I have waited up to 10 minutes and WAN 4 does still not take over. WAN 4 is working normally, i.e. if I add WAN 4 to the load balance pool also traffic goes over it fine.

Yes, its enabled in the pool :)

Thanks

Perhaps it is a firmware issue
Try contact the support if any other user of the 3900 not appear (are 2-3 i think)
I also got this guide only for the 3900 but i don't think will help
