UDP port 5060 is occupied by router VoIP service! was created by espin
Dear DrayTek Forum members,
Draytek Router 2862N (without VoIP services).
I need to change a WAN for the existing open port, as the new internet is connected to WAN2 instead of WAN1.
Whenever I change with port 5060 (set many years ago - port divert to my Asterisk), I see the error:
"UDP port 5060 is occupied by router VoIP service, please disable VoIP if you would like to open port 5060 to your LAN device."
There is no VoIP service running on the router. But the router thinks it has VoIP capabilities and asks to turn them off.
I already spoke with Draytek support, but they asked to change random settings, which does not fix the problem, as I have been trying to prepare for Internet change for months.
I just upgraded Firmware from 3.9.9.1_BT to 3.9.9.2. still no joy.
From today, I need this done ASAP; how do I fix the problem, any ideas?
Thanks

Hi espin,
You should be able to telnet in (from the dashboard using the button at the top right corner of the page, looks like a sound system EQ icon) and type…
srv nat showall
…to give you the status of your port setup.
Note: There is also a 3.9.9.3 FW release now available.

Hi HodgesanDY,
Thank you for the suggestion.
> srv nat showall
I can only see port 5060 diverted to my asterisk box.
O06 --- 0.0.0.0:5060~5060 10.0.200.10:5060~5060 Y
Which is fine. However, I need to change the WAN port, and it does not let me change anything where the open port 5060 is already set, saying:
"UDP port 5060 is occupied by router VoIP service, please disable VoIP if you would like to open port 5060 to your LAN device."
As far I understand, this error is for Draytek routers with VoIP endpoints; my one is a simple router without WiFi (DrayTek 2862).
Can I safely install the 3.9.9.3 firmware, as I am in the UK with BT ONT FFTP and this firmware is not listed as an available option?
Moreover, in the notes to 3.9.9.3, there is nothing about fixing the router VoIP service's wrong message.
Thank you

Hi espin,
Ok, so I managed to re-create the same error you’re experiencing, and with a non VoIP model as well; the 2862ac model.
In the telnet settings, I was able to enable the VoIP SIP service, which forced a reboot of the system, then I attempted to enable an open-port setting I had previously created, just for this test, and now your error pops up when I try to enable that open-port setting, I click ‘OK’ and get:
“UDP port 5060 is occupied by router VolP service, please disable VolP if you would like to open port 5060 to your LAN device.”
Previously, when enabling this open-port setting, the pop-up warning would not appear, but now it does!
To disable the service again, I typed:
voip sip misc -D 1
(must use capital ‘D’)
You can check the status of the ‘misc’ settings before you disable it, and of course afterwards, by using this command:
voip sip misc -v
Commands are:
Enable the SIP Service =
voip sip misc -D 0
Disable the SIP Service =
voip sip misc -D 1
Let me know if that solves it for you.

Hi espin,
How did you get on, did that help at all?
Also, the 3.9.9.3 FW release notes, say it covers all versions of the 2862:
Firmware Version: 3.9.9.3
Release Type: Normal - Upgrade recommended when convenient
Applied Models: Vigor2862 / Vigor2862n / Vigor2862ac / Vigor2862Vac / Vigor2862L / Vigor2862Ln / Vigor2862Lac

I am unsure how your router works with this command; maybe it has a different firmware. Which firmware do you have (and from where did you download it, e.g., draytek.com or draytek.co.uk)?
Thank you
