Fibre Broadband using Vigor 2710n? was created by denisrs
Hi, I'm new to the forum, but have been using various Vigor routers for quite a few years. my question is relating to fibre broadband. my broadband provider "TalkTalk" are offering fibre broadband for an extra £5 pounds a week. but I am unsure if my Vigor 2170n will be suitable to use with it! could anyone advise me if this router is suitable? If it's not suitable which vigor router would you recommend?.

Hi, NO is not suitable the 2710, is only an adsl modem
You need to look at the 2850 (older model) ... the 2860 ... or the cheapest of the range the 2760 (which is a mini 2860)
You can get some good deals right now here if you check at left tab buy used stock (still under 6 months warranty)

Unless you don't need the extra options of the 2860 ... i would suggest the 2760 (ask the shop for the newer delight version) ... it has the same dsl chipset as the 2860 so whatever your line will archive with the 2860, it will do exactly the same & with the 2760n
The wifi range with the 2760 i have is really good
How to setup at Talk Talk forums the guys should help, but when i was with TT fiber, it needs DHCP (static or dynamic ip tab)
