Draytek 2860 / Draytek 130 was created by johntankard
Hi guys,
Looking for some clarification. I am currently using a 2860 as a modem into a pfsense box, looking to sell the 2860 as don’t need the functions. Is the 130 modem the same chipset for vdsl as the 2860 or is it better? Just wondering if we will see a slight improvement or not.
Thanks for any advice given...
John

Hi,
I am interested on how you configured your 2860. I have a 2862n and I would like to turn it into just a modem after I added a Google Nest WiFi router to extend my WiFi coverage. Part of me think maybe I should get a Vigor130 and sell the 2862 on eBay. But on another note, I never had any issues with the VDSL connection on the Draytek, so I am a bit reluctant to change it. I'd rather keep it as a simple modem. Will have to change once FTTP reaches the end of the road.
I do not understand the settings I should be using to essentially get the 2862 act like a modem. Would you mind sharing what you did?
Thanks
JM
