Hello I got a vigor 130 for Christmas. I have plugged it in and it works fine.

Are there any settings that I should look to change or alter or is it just a dumb modem?

I was previously using a bt modem which was old, but working fine - and as far I could could tell gas no user interface. I’m guessing the vigor will give better security?? - speeds seem similar.

Assuming that you have a UK model and it's working then there's nothing you need to do - unless you want to access it via a Draytek router's virtual WAN facility. It is just a "dumb" modem.

I hope your old "modem" was indeed just that and not a BT Hub . You do have a router connected between modem and PC ?
