DrayTek 2830 fast blinking DSL light

Hi
I have a Talktalk ADSL FTTC 60mbs connection
the Sagecom Talktalk router keeps bumping us off the WiFi and Talktalk’s solution is to upgrade but there are just 2 of us in the house and only stream music and TV and do a bit of surfing so I got a second hand DrayTek to try
The Talktalk on connects and works fine otherwise
When I plug the DrayTek 2830 in to the same micro filter with the same cable the DSL light flashes fast
I did a factory reset and no difference
I went through the wizard and WAN tab following the guide and Talktalk credentials they gave me and still no joy
Tge computer connection is green on the status page but the WAN1 is red
I am not computer literate
Any advice?
Cheers
M

I think you'll find you have a TalkTalk VDSL 60Mbps connection - not ADSL (since ADSL only goes up to 24Mbps...) - therefore your 2830 router is useless as it is ADSL only.

You can connect the Draytek 2830 to a LAN port on your Talktalk Sagecom router and turn the WiFi off on the Sagecom.

The Draytek WAN2 will need to be set to DHCP but it will work (of sorts) like that.

If you find it's an improvement then investing in a newer router (Draytek or otherwise) would be worth thinking about. It may also be possible to set your Talktalk Sagecom router to "bridge mode".

Otherwise, second hand Draytek VDSL routers are fairly cheap now as people upgrade for full fibre.

Also have a look at your 2830 firmware version.
