Hi I have just moved house, and am trying to get my SIP account to register via the LAN. I dont yet have a phone or ADSL, but has run a cable to next doors and using theirs. So trying to get the SIP to work over the LAN route. The internet works, i just altered the default gateway to that of my neighbours router instead of my own.

How can I get SIP over LAN working??

connect your neighbours into WAN2 on your router and you will need to assign your WAN2 a static IP on their LAN then portforward 5060 TCP / UDP to your routers IP address

Thanks for the help. My router is the 2800 series, it has no WAN2

I believe it can be done but I'm not completley convinced. I've tried similar in the past with a 2600v and had some success but in the time I had I never got it 100% right.

Basically you need to port forward 5060 from your neighbours router to yours and configure voip on your router to use LAN and not WAN for the sip connection.

There's a bit more to it but for the life of me I can't remember at the minute.

Yes thats what I did, but looking at the network traffic, my router doesnt even try to connect. Maybe a bug in the firmware
