In your opinion, is 8Khz, 8 bit mono the optimum sample and bit rate for the IVR? Ive just tried using a-law 8 bit but 44.1KHz stereo and it sounds OK but I wouldnt say crystal clear.

Using Stereo for an earpiece which is mono, is essentially going to halve the quality.
e.g. an internet radio station streaming at 64K Mono will have the same quality as a 128K Stereo stream.
The O'reilly ? Asterisk PDF gives good background

Not quite surely; you only have one audio output on your face (aka a mouth) and are using one mic, so using stero just doubles the memory usage but doesn't lose anything in quality IMH / ISTM.

Any idea when this be please? (days, weeks, months, years). I 'm very new to Draytek having moved from Netgear kit so I have no idea that they are like for delivering on a enhancements.

It's not possible currently but that's a feature due in next firmware.admin wrote:
