IPPBX 2820 problems was created by ajshaikh
I have recently purchased a Draytek IPPBX 2820n
(v 3.5.6_232201). I have connected an analog line (Line port) and it is
ringing on an analog phone (Phone port). I have the following issues with
it:
1) Caller-ID on incoming calls is not available
2) Cannot dial e.g. 0504574245 directly from phone although Digit Mapping is
enabled. Can access line by first dialing 99#
and then 0504574245
3) Draytek Softphone (v1.4.2) registers ext but cannot receive or make calls
My final objective on this is to connect a 2820Vn to IPPBX2820n via VPN,
connect an analog phone to 2820Vn and access the PSTN line of IPPBX2820n.
Are there any technical problems with this?

Ajshaikh,
Have you tried updating to latest fw v3.5.7 I have a feeling caller id is supported on pstn line, your phone line must have caller id active.
2) what is your digi map rule?
3) a possible cause is codec mismatch, try setting all ip phones and analogue port phone to say g7.11a-law, then try. Are you running softphone on ippbx lan side local or from a remote location?
Regards,
Nick

I have upgraded to v3.5.7 and things are looking up - I can now make/receive calls from my analog phone (Digit Map works properly).
However:
- Caller-ID on incoming calls is still not pushed to the analog phone (yes, I have CallerID service on the line). The phone only displays the 'Trunk Number' when a call comes in. I have set the codec to G.711A for both Phone & FXO line but still no CallerID.
- Draytek Softphone (v1.5.0) registers ext but cannot receive or make calls. Currently running the app on my laptop which is connected to ippbx lan. But I will need to use it eventually via VPN to the ippbx.

A couple of things you might like to check.
1) In the settings for Trunks, PSTN Trunk, do you have the setting for "Detect PSTN caller-id" set correctly?
2) In the Extension settings for the extension the Softphone is using, have you allowed access to the trunks you are using?

Re softphone I would try registering via VPN, I too have had similar issues, switching to VPN by passes locally blocked router ports etc. and will save many hours of tweeking settings!
