I forgot to add that I use 2600s on both lines and these are back to back with a pair of 2900 routers and then into a gigabit switching fabric - we use the route command in DOS to steer to approapriate lines and ISPs

SNR Margin: 15.5
Loop Att: 56.5
(And varying all the time)
I'm stuck with my 512kbps, the line is too rubbish to get 1Mbps.
However, there is a DACCS on the line. Can I force BT to do a "lift and shift" or will they just giggle at me?
As I understand it, it's gonna cost me!

You can't get ADSL with DACS on the line, at all. So you havnt got DACS, what makes you think you have?

That's what I thought!
I used to have DACS on this line and it limited my dialup connection to 28.8. I asked BT to boost the gain and got 32.1 on a good day.
Nothing has changed.
So, it turns out I just have a crap line altogether! Bloody villages!

There's things you can do to like removing the bell line from your master socket to try and increase SNR.
