2820n Rebooting was created by *sledge
Hi All,
I have a 2820n which seems to reboot itself every few hours or so.
I get lost network connection showing up on my main pc and when I log into the draytek admin page it looks as though it has rebooted as the adsl connection screen is displayed in red etc.
Do I have a dodgy 2820n or would it be something else causing these reboots?
Model Name : Vigor2820 series
Firmware Version : 3.3.0
Build Date/Time : Oct 8 2008 16:05:16
ADSL Firmware Version : 211011_A Annex A
Thanks,
S

I certainly had this problem with earlier firmwares, either upgrade to the latest you can find or log a support call and ask them to send you the latest beta release as I haven't had any reboot problems for a long long time.
I'm assuming the router "uptime" is reset as well, and its not just a adsl problem causing the line to reset?

Thanks for the quick reply RR. Yes the system uptime is reset as well.
Will try the latest firmware from support. Hopefully they are quick to respond as I was used to the stability of my 2600 for years so was expecting the same from the 2820.
I take it if I put a new firmware on I'll lose all my settings like port redirects etc?

They should be quick, I logged a call over last weekend, and got new firware by Monday afternoon.
There is usually a .rst file and a .all file.
The rst one will wipe everything, but .all will keep everything.
I always use the .all files and never had a problem, even when new features are added.

Hi,
Support responded quite quickly and I had the _All firmware by 5pm which was impressive.
Haven't had a reboot since the new firmware so initially it looks solved.
Thanks for the suggestion to update the firmware.
I just need to harass BT about noise on the line now. That will be the hard part.
