Which 3G modems work out of the box? was created by rckt
There's a lot of posts here of people having trouble with some of the 3G modems which are designated as "approved".
Are there any modems (on any UK network) which just work out of the box? (or with very minimal setup).
Thanks!

I've had some success with the t-mobile PAYG web'n'walk product (using what they call the USB 110 stick) but it only works at GPRS speeds rather than HSDPA speeds at the moment.
UPDATE: Turns out that the GPRS vs 3G speeds are all down to reception/signal quality. So can confirm that 2820Vn with current firmware works fine.

I've had no problems with a E169 on 3 contract.

Hello
I have a e169g on three.co.uk connected with no configuration needed.
I did have to flash the 2820 with the latest f/w using the .rst file
( the .all splatted the gui).
I had to use the draytek router tool to re-flash and get the gui back
v2820_v03312_232201_A.rst version 3.3.1.2
support did give the APN as 3internet but did work without it.
