Knackered ? 2600G was created by pfo
Lightning storm the other day - raced indoors to unplug everything from the BT master socket - too late. (the local bank branch was similarly disabled; I am in good company)
So, the 2600G lights up and seems to have all settings in its admin pages, but the LINE light flashes and the DATA light never does. These two lights never go stable.
Reboot to factory settings and re-enter my items / reboot yields no change.
At the Status screen clicking to Dial PPPoA does nothing. The Status shows the correct IP at the top and shows TX and RX packets incrementing slowly.
A borrowed router works fine; ie, the BT line is OK.
Please confirm I do need new hardware.
Many thanks
Phil

Where've you been hiding that you consider being in the same boat as a bank is "good company"
For your problem though, yes, it doesn't sound good. If the ADSL line does still work, those symptoms could indicate lightning having eaten the router.
