Packet loss when using Vigor 2820Vn was created by bradley porter
Dear all,
Some strangeness when using the Vigor 2820Vn with my ISP. I wonder if anyone can shed any light?
When using pingplotter, I see massive packet loss on most of the links between my laptop and the destination; which could be almost anywhere on the internet. At first, I blamed the ISP and was quite concerned. However, going back to my old NetGear 834G router, the same test shows no packet loss anywhere!
I have the same Ethernet connection to each router and use the same ISP and destination pings. However, if using the Draytek, PingPlotter shows huge packet loss but not if using the NetGear! It almost feels like the router is the issue.....
Any ideas?

Hi,
I had the same with pingplotter with my 2820n, looked like massive packet losses (although the link was actually fine). I never sorted it and in the end I gave up on pingplotter.

Thanks for the response.
I can assume that nothing is wrong then? In short, is there another way I can verify that all is well?

I'm just using www.voipspear.com to keep an eye on voip performance at the moment, its enough for me.
I don't know why pingplotter wasn't very successful across my router, but perhaps others have had better results.

Thank you.
However, it is very interesting that this Router produces this sort of behaviour in PingPlotter.
If anyone else has had this sort of issue then please let me know.
