Hi everyone,

I have just unpacked my new Vigor 2820 (the basic one) router today and have tried to get the AFM-102 USB analogue modem to work without success.

I have done exactly what the instructions told me to do (eg. connect the USB modem to the USB port and plug the supplied cable into the phone line its self). The USB did not light up when I had connected the modem whilst the router was powered on.

I then turned off the router and powered it back up, but this time around the USB light was constantly flashing. On both occasions the router did not detect the modem (eg. WAN 3 wasn't listed within the Internet Setup part of the router's web configuration program).

Is there anything that I have missed out or is my brand new modem duff ?

Any help or advice would be welcome.

did you flash the router with the beta firmware that supports the analog modem?

I have not flashed the firmware at all. It is exactly as it came out of the box yesterday, the current firmware version is 3.3.1.2_232201.

I'll have a look but I'm slightly concerned that if I flash it then does it void the warranty ?

I've done the firmware update and it now detects my backup analogue modem
