I am having a problem with picking up my email using pop3 server from my isp.

Router is a 2820N nothing too fancy on the setup no special firewall settings etc.

When I connect to isp to pick up email I get an error immediately the mail download starts and the ADSL connection drops immediately.

I have tried wit Outlook my default mail client and windows mail, same problem on both.

I have reconfigured my mail system to use Imap for the moment but I would prefer to use pop3.

Anyone had this type of problem or got any ideas why this is happening.

All was working fine until last week and I dont think I have made any changes to any settings just suddenly started.

Any ideas welcome

Hello,

Sounds like firewall on local machine or Anti-Virus.

Have you tried turning them off?
