Admin,

thank you for your reply. We stopped selling the 2600's about 5years ago and now a lot of people are facing issues with the new MSAN's which would co-incide with your comments.

I apprecaite you taking the time to reply. Just on a similar note. INP on thr 8mb lines will the 2600 support INP more specifically will it support Extended Ethernet Framing?

Any feedback will be appreciated.

* Note that there are two models with similar names, 2600 series and 2600plus series. *

Traditionally UK (modem code 41E2BE2C) was for normal lines and UK2 (modem code 43E2EAA1) was for longer reach lines (high attn DB - far from exchange)

I've just had a look at the ftp site and can see there is a modem code that's not the UK or UK2 modem codes that were recommended.

I've not played around with a 2600 for ages but I'm sure that it would be worth trying the modem code on a line that was exhibiting ATM errors (of course I'd try UK or UK2 as well, depening on what was already on the unit)

For the record I've been seeing these problems with both 2600's and 2600+'s. All with the latest UK firmware for the respective model.

I'm not sure the 2600 series supported INP at all; might just be simpler to tell them the router's very old and the new lines need a newer router; after 5-6 years, they would probably understand!

And the biggest resistance to upgrading I'm seeing is from small businesses and SOHO users who say they just can't afford to replace their unit with the current model.
