Syslog App for Windows and Mac OS X was created by busta999
Has anyone got these to work?
I have Draytek 4.2.0 and the app loads doesn't do anything. How do you get it to connect to the router - None of those buttons seem to do anything.
I have the Draytek Sys Log 1.1 for my Mac 10.5.8 and it launches and just sits doing nothing. It won't let you enter the IP address of the router.
I checked for releases notes etc and no magic incantations there to turn them on.
As a preference i would really like to have the Mac version work as it means I can dump the PC.
Thanks

OK Progress
Decoded from the Routertoolsreadme.rtf
2. Check the service port is identical with router's setting which can be set via preference dialog.
means
1. Use your web browser to go to Draytek router config and log in
2. Select System Maintenance
3. Select Syslog/mailalert
4. Enter IP address of Machine you want to run Sys Log utility on (Note - you will need to fix the IP address of the machine - see separate FAQ)
5. Enter destination Port number - suggest 1024
6. Check Syslog Messages you want to monitor
7. Check Enable Syslog to enable Syslog Monitoring
8. Go to Syslog on your desktop and ensure it is configured to use the same Port Number ie 1024
9. The press Start on you desktop App
You have to admire the abbreviated version for its brevity though

I use syslog watcher personal to monitor - it lets on device connect is the only restriction.
