2800VG web interface problem was created by paulh177
I've had my 2800VG for a few years and it has been pretty bullet-proof so far.
However, in the past few days if I go into the router's web interface, sometimes I'm getting blank grey areas, sometimes "cannot contact server" or just a very slow or no response.
Rebooting after leaving it off a while hasn't helped.
I use Opera 10.54 mostly and have FF3 installed, and it occurs with both.
This is all on XP Home SP3, with ZA and AVG
I am running a pretty ancient firmware though -- 2.7.1 / E.38.2.23 Annex A from 2006
Any suggestions other than reflashing firmware or updating to a later firmware?
tia for any help

sorry - perhaps a full system reset by pushing in the button on the back of the router with a paperclip? Back up settings first though.

yep, that seems to have sorted it out nicely.
There was clearly something wrong - as well as the http interface being flaky, I found I couldn't ftp into it to backup the config and firmware (but managed to do so with the web interface -- and yes I did have remote ftp enabled) ... although oddly enough I could telnet in OK.
thanks very much for clarifying what you meant and so pointing me in the correct direction
