2820 and Vodafone K4505 was created by markee
We have installed 4 Draytek 2820s on a customer site for collection of energy meter data.

As we are unable to use a hardwired IP / ADSL connection, we chose to use the Draytek in conjunction with a 3G USB modem for internet connectivity.

Our client supplied the 3G modems which are Vodafone K4505 (newest hardware), and although we can connect to the internet OK, if we lose the 3G signal, the Draytek / K4505 will not autmocatically reconnect without resetting the 2820 when the 3G signal returns.

We have no WAN connected to WAN1 and are using the device on 3G only with the 3G modems plugged into the USB port.

Anybody expereinced this or has any ideas what the issue is?

Thank you.

Hi, the list of supported 3G modems does not (yet) include the K4505.

See the 3G tab here: http://www.draytek.co.uk/products/vigor2820.html

You could work through the process here: http://www.support.draytek.co.uk/kb_vigor_usb_3g.html to request K4505 support.

Regards, Neal
