Vigor 2820n + Syslog for Windows + was created by themole1
I've installed and setup this router and installed an opensource syslog demon on Windows server 2003.

I have set the syslog ip etc in the router config and I can now see that syslog messages are being written to log files.

Here's an extract:

I run the SyslogRd.exe tool but there is nothing in the dropdown list to select a syslog server.

The syslog server is listening on the default port (514) and I'm running the SyslogRd.exe on the server aswell...

Can anyone give some ideas as to what to try next?

Thanks

So you have 2 apps on the same IP both listening on port 514 ?

Stop the daemon does syslogrd work then ?

The syslogrd tool is a client that connects to the syslog server.....

Am I mistaken?

syslogrd is a listening daemon.
