Voodle gave me Telnet info to get Wan2 ping working (see below) which I implemented on 13th Aug and it does what it says on the tin. We can now remote log-in to our data gatherers quickly & have far fewer changes of IP or lock-outs.

Over the 3 weeks I have been checking my usage on the 3G (using the traffic graph tool) and estimate that the ping portion is about 19 / 20mb per day, does this seem about right & if so is there a Telnet instruction to reduce the ping frequency / usage slightly?
Is the default period in router about 3 minutes?

firmware 3.3.4_232201_A Hardware:Annex A
Orange 3G E1752 in WAN 2, nothing in WAN 1

Telnet command for activating ping:
wan detect wan2 target 8.8.8.8
wan detect wan2 on

Everything else working great, feature packed super little router.
Thanks in anticipation

Have UK tech support all flown to sunnier climes now the schools have gone back or perhaps they have gone back to school ;--))

not starting a flame --just easing some steam.

I dont think the draytek support people post on the forums, you'll need to use the email support link on the main site.

No further ideas on how you'd change the ping settings for that 3g connection, sorry :(

creative usage of the telnet commands guide and lots of putting "?" at the end of an interesting looking command. you can get the guide from here, kind of outdated these days though, I think:
