Cannot log onto my v120 modem to set settings ?? have plugged the pc to modem with cable (supplied) and tried to logon using http://192.168.2.1 as i have read to use on this forum browser just keeps timing out sayin gcannot connect to address ??. The modem is working fine connected to a netgear router (want to update firmware)

by default: ip address of vigor120 is 192.168.1.1/24
please check your PC ip address, ensure it on same subnet.

The UK version is on 192.168.2.1 - if it's not giving out an IP, check whether the lights are showing normally (ACT light blinking slowly), if that is the case then try resetting it pressing the reset button until the ACT light blinks quickly.

Thank you voodle that worked a treat if any one else does this rem to save ya settings cos you lose them when you press reset (as i now know)

One problem once I have connected the router back to the modem and connected to the net, I cannot then connect back onto the modem again (after swapping pc cable back to modem) i have to reset every time ? is there a way to stopit doing this as I cannot see the line speed etc.

The last post in this thread explains how you can connect the 120 in to the network to get the online status from it
